Gender-based Violence and Femicide (GBVF) is a significant problem in the Eastern Cape, characterized by high rates of violence against women and children, including sexual assault, physical violence, and femicide.
It is against this background that the Eastern Cape Department of Social Development, in partnership with Nyamukara Empowerment launched the Provincial Skills Development Programme for GBV survivors in Nelson Mandela Bay.
This initiative aims to empower survivors
by providing them with essential skills (advanced sewing and digital literacy) and resources to rebuild their lives and enhance their economic
