Abandoned children in SA

Over 250 children were abandoned between October and December last year. The Department of Social Development says the bulk of the cases were reported in KwaZulu-Natal, followed by the Free State and Western Cape. Teenage pregnancy and gender-based violence are among some of the reasons for the babies to be abandoned. Naledi Moleo speaks to DSD spokesperson Lumka Oliphant.
